Marsh Hawk Media is publishing historical fiction and related projects. The first publication, Farewell, O Syria, by Lausanne Davis Carpenter, is set for a 2026 release. The next publication, scheduled for early 2027, will be Precious Gem, by Anne Dickerson Davis.
Lausanne Davis Carpenter
Lausanne Davis Carpenter writes historical fiction focusing on times and places rarely explored in conventional publishing. Drawing on a lifetime of fine art, stage design, and travel, she considers the world’s far corners and the hinge points of history with passion and curiosity, aiming to observe, understand, and elucidate these to others through writing and fine art.
Her new novel, Farewell, O Syria plunges the reader into the consequences of the Byzantine-Persian wars and the explosive rise of the Saracens. This epic drama unfolds in a period largely neglected by the Western canon, yet one whose seismic conflicts still shape the modern world. This is an unflinching story of faith and survival in a time when the world faced the onslaught of a new era.
She is currently working on the next installment, following her characters as they navigate their ever-changing world.

Anne Dickerson Davis
For ten years Anne Dickerson Davis wrote a weekly humor column for the Progress-Index of Petersburg, VA. These slice of life anecdotes, crafted from her observations and love of the human spirit, were presented with warmth, empathy, and self-deprecation.
In a similar vein, she crafted the novels Precious Gem and Blood Ties, family tragicomedies full of pathos and irony.
Over the same period, she recorded personal essays for a local NPR station while researching and composing multiple drafts of other historical novels set in early America.
As a wife and mother of her generation she raised her own children and numerous foster children while quietly honing her craft.
After five decades of writing, she left five manuscripts, two completed and recorded as audio readings, three in various degrees of development, each saturated in her wit, compassion, faith, and deep observation of character.
Her stories are being published posthumously by her estate in order to complete the work that she started and allow the world to experience her unique voice.
The first to be published, Precious Gem, will be released by chapters on Substack along with their audio files (2027). It will also available for purchase in ebook and paperback.
